Workshops & Classes
Workshops & Classes is a natural outlet for Leigh based on her experience teaching art; starting with elementary school and all the way through mentoring award winning Advanced Placement (AP) students at the high school level.
In addition to teaching principles, processes, and techniques to groups as varied as students, professional artists, and women’s social groups, Leigh was able to use art to help individuals express thoughts and ideas through visual journalling. This was particularly therapeutic to those who were in substance abuse recovery.When faced with difficulty expressing in words the issues and internal turmoil they might be dealing with, a combination of words and images was often a way for them to better express themselves. On the other end of the spectrum were her Alcohol Ink classes, which with the ink’s vibrant colors and tendency to go where they will, were just fun. And everyone, children and adults alike, came away with a piece of art they were pleased with.
