CPCC Exhibit & Workshop

Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) hosted a 3 woman show entitled “When World’s Collide: The Interaction of Art and Chemistry.” Leigh was privileged to be one of the artists.  Each of the 3 artists explored this topic via different media.  Leigh focused on acrylic and alcohol ink paintings, which use very different chemistries to create the images. Her abstract images, also spoke symbolically to the “chemistry” that composition and color play in creating engaging abstract images.

As part of this show the artists conducted workshops for the CPCC students demonstrating the processes used in creating their artwork.  Participants in the workshop then applied these processes to create their own artwork.  The workshops were followed by a public symposium where the artist had the opportunity to share more about their artistic endeavors and interact with the audience via a panel discussion and Q&A’s.
